Somalia: operations to maintain security in the city will continue, spokesman
The ministry of national security of the Federal government of Somalia stated that government forces will continue operations aimed to maintain the security of the capital city, Mogadishu.
The spokesman of the ministry Mohamed Yussuf Osman said that the improvement of the town’s security is due to the security crackdown against unauthorized weapons and ammunition.
He added that the local people in the capital have collaborated and given valuable information to the security forces, the information led to the seizure of illegal weapons and other hiding suspects.
Finally the spokesman said the security forces are vigilant to prevent the individuals that threaten the security of the region.
Recently the Federal government forces together with AMISOM captured over 500 guns in a massive disarmament operations in Mogadishu.
