GOOBJOOG NEWS | BUSAN, South Korea: Somalia’s Director-General of the Ministry of Planning, Mohamed Shire has said that international partnerships must be aligned with the country’s long-term vision if they are to deliver meaningful results.

Speaking at the Busan Global Partnership Forum, Shire outlined Somalia’s National Transformation Plan for 2025–2029 and Vision 2060, calling them the guiding frameworks for rebuilding the nation and ensuring sustainable development.

He said Somalia’s Aid Architecture was already improving coordination between government, partners and communities, but stressed that lasting progress required “country-led, evidence-based and effective partnerships” that match Somalia’s priorities.

Shire warned that shrinking aid flows made it more urgent to focus on results-driven cooperation, adding that Somalia would push to ensure global support strengthens its national development goals.
