Somalia premier gives keynote speech before parliament after approval
The newly appointed prime minister of Somalia Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed addressed the federal parliament immediately he was unanimously approved by the lawmakers. He thanked the members for giving absolute confidence.
He said his new government has priorities to tackle including strengthening security, finalizing the reconciliation processes in the country, promotion of economic resources, judicial reform, fighting corruption, speeding of social services, maintaining good governance and completion of federal states in the country
He stated that his government will take long strides towards “Vision 2016” to deliver on democracy, peace and stability that will benefit all the people of Somalia.
He called the federal parliament to collaborate with the new government so as to ensure the government to make a real difference and deliver the tasks on the ground to Somali people.
On his side president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud giving a keynote speech before the federal parliament immediately after the approval of the new prime minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharma’arke thanked the lawmakers’ powerful stand to pass the appointed premier.
He called the new premier to take full responsibility and come up with inclusive government that is capable of bridging the nation the difficult situation.
President Hassan asked the international community to work hand in hand with the appointed prime minister.
