Somalia Receives Credentials From Four New Ambassadors

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia has formally received the credentials of four newly appointed ambassadors from Mali, Nigeria, Pakistan and Myanmar, as Mogadishu seeks to strengthen bilateral ties and expand diplomatic cooperation.

Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali received copies of the ambassadors’ credentials from Dr Madou Diallo of Mali, Danlami Ibrahim of Nigeria, Aqsa Nawaz of Pakistan and Aung Min of Myanmar.

The presentation of credentials marks the beginning of the ambassadors’ formal diplomatic duties in Somalia after their appointments were approved by the Federal Government.

Abdisalam welcomed the new envoys and said Somalia attached importance to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation with the countries they represent.

Somalia is seeking to deepen diplomatic and economic engagement with African and Asian countries, with cooperation spanning areas including trade, development, security and other areas of mutual interest.

The arrival of the four envoys also adds to Somalia’s diplomatic engagement at a time when the government is seeking to broaden international partnerships and strengthen its relations with countries beyond its traditional regional partners.
