Somalia, Saudi Arabia Sign 2026 Hajj Quota Agreement for 11,500 Pilgrims
GOOBJOOG NEWS | JEDDAH: Somalia has signed its 2026 Hajj quota agreement with Saudi Arabia, securing 11,500 slots for Somali pilgrims as part of ongoing cooperation between the two countries on pilgrimage management.
The agreement was signed in Jeddah by Somalia’s Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, Sheikh Mukhtar Robow Ali, and Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah.
Minister Robow is leading Somalia’s delegation to the annual Hajj and Umrah Services Exhibition, known as the “Hajj Expo,” which brings together officials from Muslim nations to improve coordination and services for pilgrims.
Somalia was recognized among the top four countries globally for the quality of its Hajj services in 2025, earning special commendation and a dedicated pavilion at the exhibition.
Robow said the recognition reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring Somali pilgrims receive safe, well-organized and dignified support during their pilgrimage.
“The partnership with Saudi authorities continues to strengthen each year, and our goal remains to make the Hajj experience smoother and more meaningful for every Somali pilgrim,” he said.
