Somalia Sends Justice Officials to Egypt to Boost Cybercrime Response

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia is investing in modernizing its justice system as a delegation of justice sector officials departs for Egypt to participate in a capacity-building program on emerging crimes and digital transformation.

The initiative is designed to equip Somali officials with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle cybercrime and other technology-driven offenses, strengthening the country’s legal and judicial response to contemporary challenges.

Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Hassan Sheikh Ali said the program is intended to directly support ongoing justice reforms, improving institutional efficiency and effectiveness.

The training is also expected to help Somalia build a technology-enabled justice system capable of safeguarding the rule of law, protecting citizens, and responding proactively to new forms of criminal activity.

By enhancing expertise in digital and emerging crime management, Somalia aims to modernize its legal institutions and reinforce public trust in the justice sector.
