GOOBJOOG NEWS | NEW YORK: Somalia and Serbia have signed a memorandum of understanding to boost cooperation in diplomatic training, officials said, as the countries move to deepen bilateral ties.
The agreement was signed in New York by Somalia’s Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali and his Serbian counterpart Marko Đurić on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly.
The deal links Somalia’s Diplomatic Studies Institute with Serbia’s Diplomatic Academy, focusing on training and capacity building for diplomats.
Somalia and Serbia already have a defense cooperation framework, under which Serbia provides training to Somali armed forces.
