Somalia Showcases Cultural Heritage at Eastern Africa Arts and Culture Exhibition

GOOBJOOG NEWS | ADDIS ABABA: Somalia made a historic debut at the second edition of the Eastern Africa Arts, Culture, and Craft Exhibition, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The three-day event celebrated regional cultural diversity and promoted collaboration among Eastern African nations.
Representing Somalia, the renowned National Band, Waaberi, delivered a captivating performance that showcased the country’s rich heritage through poetry, art, and traditional music.
Their performance resonated deeply with audiences and highlighted Somalia’s enduring cultural identity.
A high-level Somali delegation, led by the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Da’ud Aweys Jama, actively engaged in discussions on the role of culture in regional integration.
The participation of Somali officials emphasized the nation’s commitment to strengthening cultural diplomacy and fostering closer ties with neighboring countries.
Somalia’s presence was recognized with a certificate of honor, awarded to Minister Da’ud Aweys Jama in acknowledgment of the country’s contributions to the exhibition.
The event’s theme, “Using Art and Culture for Regional Integration,” underscored the importance of cultural exchange in enhancing diplomatic relations, promoting community cohesion, and fostering regional cooperation.
