GOOBJOOG NEWS | AMMAN: Health and Human Services minister Dr. Ali Haji Adam has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET) to expand cooperation in strengthening the country’s healthcare system.

The agreement, signed during the minister’s official visit to Amman, is expected to support Somalia’s efforts to improve public health services, enhance disease surveillance, and build the capacity of healthcare workers nationwide.

EMPHNET, an international organization that works to advance public health across the Eastern Mediterranean region, has previously partnered with Somalia on several health support projects, including programs targeting infectious diseases and health system resilience.

Dr. Adam said the new partnership will help improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare for Somali citizens by aligning national health priorities with international best practices.

The agreement marks a renewed commitment by both sides to collaborate in developing sustainable health programs that strengthen Somalia’s healthcare infrastructure and improve community health outcomes.
