Somalia to resume export of livestock to Saudi Arabia

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia will soon resume export of livestock to Saudi Arabia, Federal Government of Somalia Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre as said.

The Prime Minister said the move is significant for the economic development of Somalia as it will create job opportunities and at the same time boost the country’s economic growth through an increase in trade and export revenue.

“The resumption of livestock exports to Saudi Arabia will not only boost our economy but also create numerous job opportunities for our people. It is essential that we utilize this opportunity to maximize the benefits and contribute to the overall welfare of our nation,” he noted.

Prime Minister Hamse promised that the government will enhance its support to the livestock industry by facilitating effective utilization of available resources to maximize the profits to farmers.

He further encouraged Somali entrepreneurs to capitalize on the reopening of the market and explore other opportunities in agriculture, fishing and horticulture to enable Somalia fully harness its economic potential for the prosperity of its citizens.

Livestock has long been a crucial economic asset for the country, and the reopening of this market will further strengthen its position in the global trade arena.
