Somalia Trains Regional Investigators to Boost Criminal Justice

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia has graduated a group of regional investigative officers following a police training programme aimed at improving crime investigations and strengthening the justice system.
The graduation ceremony in Mogadishu was led by Somali Police Force Commander Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, who handed out certificates to the officers. The trainees came from various federal member states.
The programme, run by the Police Planning and Training Directorate, covered modern investigative methods, including forensic crime scene analysis, digital evidence handling, and techniques for interviewing victims and witnesses.
Brigadier General Abdullahi urged the graduates to apply their skills in the field and share their knowledge with colleagues in their regions to improve overall policing standards.
“This is a key step toward building a credible justice system,” he said, calling for stronger cooperation among officers and better service to the public.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts by Somali authorities to professionalize the police force, resolve crimes more effectively, and reinforce rule of law across the country.
