Somalia, Türkiye Agree to Further Deepen Bilateral Relations

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia’s Upper House Speaker Abdi Hashi Abdullahi Tuesday met Türkiye’s new AmbassadorAlper Aktaş in Mogadishu to discuss ways of fostering bilateral relations between the two brotherly nations.

The meeting, which underscores deepening ties between the two nations acted as a platform to discuss the various cooperation in various sectors, for the benefit of citizens of the two nations.

During the meeting, Speaker Abdi Hashi Abdullahi expressed gratitude for Türkiye’s continued support to Somalia’s various development initiatives, and acknowledged the significant contributions Türkiye has made in areas such as infrastructure, education, and humanitarian aid, which have benefited the Somali people.

“Türkiye has been a great ally and friend to Somalia, providing invaluable assistance and support in our journey towards stability and development. We are eager to strengthen our collaboration and explore new avenues for mutual growth and prosperity,” The Speaker said.

On his part, Ambassador Alper Aktaş reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s development and stability, highlighting the importance of maintaining strong diplomatic relations and emphasized his country’s readiness to assist Somalia in achieving its developmental goals.

“Our relationship with Somalia is built on a foundation of mutual respect and brotherhood. We look forward to continuing our support and working together to create a brighter future for both our nations,” he stated.
