Somalia, Uganda Leaders Reaffirm Security Cooperation in Phone Talks

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held a phone call with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, congratulating him on his re-election and reaffirming close cooperation between the two countries.

During the conversation, President Mohamud pledged to work with President Museveni on areas of shared interest, as the two leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations.

They also reiterated their commitment to strengthening the long-standing partnership between Somalia and Uganda, with a focus on enhanced cooperation in peace and security and efforts to promote regional stability in the Horn of Africa, the officials said.

Uganda is a key contributor to regional security efforts in Somalia and has played a central role in supporting the country’s stabilisation process.
