Somalia, UK Reaffirm Commitment to Enhance Bilateral Cooperating

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal government of Somalia and the United Kingdom have reaffirmed their commitment to bolster bilateral cooperation between the two nations and collaborate in promoting stability and development across the Horn of Africa region.

This was discussed Wednesday when Somalia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi hosted UK Ambassador to Somalia, Mike Nithavrianakis and the newly appointed UK Special Envoy for the Red Sea and Horn of Africa Alison Blackburn at his office in Mogadishu.

Their discussions centered around strengthening bilateral cooperation between Somalia and the United Kingdom, as well as addressing key regional issues.

Ms. Blackburn’s appointment as Special Envoy highlights the UK’s continued focus on the Red Sea and Horn of Africa, with Somalia playing a pivotal role in the region’s security and economic landscape.

The meeting underscored the mutual commitment to enhancing diplomatic ties and addressing challenges in the region through constructive dialogue and partnership.
