Somalia, UNOPS Sign Agreement for Baidoa Drainage Development
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia has signed an agreement with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS marking the beginning of a comprehensive 15-month program focused on assessing and designing an efficient drainage system for Baidoa city.
According to Public Works, Reconstruction, and Housing Minister Dr. Elmi Mohamud Noor,the project aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of engineers from the Ministry and state governments, ensuring the development of high-quality infrastructure.
The move is expected to address the pressing need for a robust drainage system in Baidoa, contributing to the city’s resilience against flooding and other water-related issues.
The collaboration between the Ministry of Public Works and UNOPS underscores a commitment to leveraging international expertise and resources to achieve sustainable urban development in Somalia.
