GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The federal government of Somalia has unveiled newly modernised studios at Radio Mogadishu, a move officials said would strengthen the country’s public broadcasting capacity and improve access to reliable information nationwide.

Information Minister Daud Aweis Jama inaugurated the upgraded facilities, saying the project reflects the government’s broader push to modernise state media and enhance its role in informing and educating the public.

The year-long upgrade has equipped the national broadcaster with advanced technology, allowing it to operate two studios simultaneously and improve technical reliability, a key step for consistent nationwide coverage.

Radio Mogadishu Director Abdifatah Dahir Jayte said the modernisation would enhance programming quality and operational efficiency, noting that part of the equipment was secured through cooperation with BBC Media Action.

Officials said the improvements mark an important milestone in reforming Somalia’s state media institutions as the government seeks to strengthen public communication and trust.
