Somalia Urges Stronger Arab League Cooperation at Cairo Meeting

GOOBJOOG NEWS | CAIRO: Somalia has called on Arab League member states to strengthen cooperation and follow through on key resolutions, as regional foreign ministers met in Cairo on for the bloc’s 164th session.

Speaking on behalf of Somalia’s foreign minister, Ambassador Ali Abdi Aware, the country’s envoy to Egypt and the Arab League, told delegates that the Federal Government of Somalia was committed to playing a constructive role within the organization.

The meeting, held at the Arab League headquarters, addressed a range of regional issues, with a strong focus on the Palestinian question.

Ambassador Aware urged members to ensure “serious implementation” of decisions taken at the session, stressing that improved collaboration was vital to achieving the League’s shared goals.

Somalia’s active participation reflects its intention to bolster ties with Arab states and contribute to wider efforts to address political and security challenges in the region.
