Somalia’s Energy Minister, SSC-Khaatumo Delegation Discuss Infrastructure, Investment Opportunities

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Government of Somalia’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Abdullahi Bidhan Warsame met with a ministerial delegation from the SSC-Khaatumo Administration to explore potential collaboration on infrastructure development and investment in the region’s energy and water sectors.
The delegation included SSC-Khaatumo’s ministers of energy and water resources, finance, and planning. During the meeting, they provided an update on the region’s state-building process and outlined priority areas for infrastructure investment and institutional support.
Minister Bidhan welcomed the visit, emphasizing the importance of aligning national development strategies with regional priorities to ensure inclusive growth.
He also reaffirmed the federal government’s readiness to support technical cooperation, capacity building, and resource mobilization in SSC-Khaatumo.
Discussions highlighted the need to attract both public and private sector investment to address critical infrastructure gaps, particularly in clean water access, renewable energy, and utility services.
The meeting marks a step forward in Somalia’s broader push to strengthen regional integration and unlock economic potential through targeted investment in essential services.
