Somalia’s Health Minister Meets Gavi CEO to discuss Enhancing Immunization in Somalia
GOOBJOOG NEWS | GENEVA: Federal government of Somalia’s Health Minister Dr. Ali Hajji Adam met Gavi CEO Dr Sania Nishtar at sidelines of the 77th World Health Conference in Geneva.
During the meeting, the two discussed steps aimed at boosting routine immunization aimed ensuring no Somali child is left unvaccinated.
The minister has also held high level meetings with several global leaders to discuss issues of mutual interests particularly on regional health policy coordination.
This council, which annually at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, analyzes the activities that boost global health systems and makes vital decisions that affect countries across the world.
Minister Adam who was elected vice President at Global health summit expressed his gratitude and thanked member states for trusting Somalia’s leadership in global health initiatives.
The presence of Somalia at the global event demonstrates the country’s dedication to global health concerns.
The summit also held discussions on amendments to the WHO’s International Health Regulations for enhanced pandemic preparedness.
