Security minister pledges action over disputed settlement in Wadajir
Security minister Abukar Islow has pledged to address the dispute over land at a settlement near the former US embassy premises in Mogadishu which led to deaths of about five people this past week.
Speaking to the media Sunday, the minister condoled with the families and promised action to resolve the dispute.
“As members of parliament, we are sorry for what happened and we are ready to take the wounded people to hospitals and provide all the medications needed until they improve,” said Islow.
Another MP Samira Hassan Abdulle called on the federal government to address the issue which has recurred severally.
MP Samira Hassan Abdulle said, “The issues in the area have occurred several times and now it’s the Federal Government of Somalia turn to make a clear decision about the settlement of the area.”
