South West State Nominates 16 candidates for Upper-house

South West State of Somalia joined on Sunday, the ranks of Galmudug, Jubbaland, and Puntland to submit the Upper-house candidate’s list to Indirect Electoral Commission Team in Mogadishu.

In a document seen by Goobjoog News, the State has nominated 16 candidates, which four of them are women to enter the elections of Upper-house for the State.

The indirect Electoral Team confirmed to have received the list of Galmudug, Jubbaland, and Puntland states.

Hiiran, Middle Shebelle, and Somaliland candidate’s lists are still pending. Somaliland representatives complained injustices of how Upperhouse seats has been distributed to Federal states, and said they won’t participate elections, unless their concern is addressed. Also, the question of Hiiraan and Middle Shebelle  remains unaddressed.

National Leadership Forum meeting is expected to kick off tomorrow in Mogadishu and address Hiiran,middle shebble, and Somaliland issues, among other things.
