South West State set to hold elections for 5 seats in Baidoa
Goobjoog News/Baidoa: South West State is set to hold elections today for the 5 seats it announced on Thursday, January 13, in the city of Baidoa and will be contested by former and current members of parliament.
Hassan Abdinur Abdi who is the current holder of seat Hop184, will be seeking to defend his seat being eyed by Mohamed Abdullahi Ali and Mohamed Hussein Mukhtar.
Abdi Osman will not be defending his seat (Hop156) and will be contested by Mohamed Adan Mohamed and Mohamed Ibrahim Issack.
Mohamed Mursal Mohamed Borow will be seeking to defend his Hop176 seat, which is being eyed by Abdihakin Mustaf Ibrahim.
Seat Hop 46, which is currently held by Rabaco Sheikh Nur, will be contested by Mohamed Wardere Adan and another Member.
Sharif Mohamed Abdallahi of HOP 85, will defend his seat which is contested by Sharif Mohamed Abdullahi and another Member.
Following today’s elections, the South West State will become the first state to implement the election agreement outlined by the National Consultative Council on September 9th.
