South West tightens security ahead of the state presidential election
South West administration has tightened security ahead of the state presidential election on November in Baidoa town.
The city of Baidoa was seen heavy security officers by the Somalia police, the Somali National Army, as well as Ethiopian troops which are part of AMISOM.
The spokesperson of the administration, Nuradin Gacma speaking to Goobjoog News, “said the main reason for the heavy security in the town is for the preparation of the state presidential elections on November.”
The spokesman also denied that the security of Baidoa town is tightened and controlled by the Ethiopian forces.
“The Ethiopian troops are on their usual bases in the town, and the security of the town is tightened and controlled by the Somali police and the Somalia National Army,” the spokesman said.
Baidoa, the capital of Bay region and the headquarter of the Southwest administration is expected to host the presidential elections of the state on November 2018.
