Speaker and the Budget Committee end their row and grant to work together
The Speaker of the Lower House Mohamed Mursal had a meeting yesterday with the Finance and Budget Committee at Villa Hargeisa to resolve their row and to set aside their differences.
The Lower House speaker accepted the recommendations of the members of the finance committee in the meeting, and the members of the committee simultaneously acknowledged that the committee still has many tasks ahead.
The chairman of the House of the People of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Mursal Sheikh Abdirahman has also encouraged the finance committee about their role and calls them to fulfill their task urgently.
The meeting also resolved that the three leaders forgive each other and work together as a team and that the House should resume business.
Crucial for both Parliament and the Executive now is the passage of the 2019 National Budget. The $340 million is expected to be passed before parliament breaks for the December recess.
