GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Speaker of Parliament of Somalia’s newly established North Eastern State, Dr. Aadan Abdullahi, arrived in Mogadishu on Sunday for his first official visit since being elected in August.
Abdullahi and his delegation were welcomed at Aden Adde International Airport by lawmakers from both Houses of the Federal Parliament.
Speaking to reporters, the Speaker thanked the federal authorities for the reception and said the creation of the North Eastern State reflected the will of its people to participate in Somalia’s federal system.
His visit underscores efforts to strengthen ties between Mogadishu and emerging federal member states as Somalia continues to build its political institutions.
