GOOBJOOG NEWSNAIROBI: The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament Sheikh Adan Madobe on Tuesday visited Somalia’s Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya.

Speaker Madobe was received by the Somali Ambassador to Kenya Mohamud Ahmed Tarsan, his deputy and some Embassy staff.

His visit to Nairobi was punctuated with rumors that he had been taken ill and admitted in the Kenyan capital; a claim he refuted saying he was on a working visit and would return home soon ahead of the confidence vote for the new Somali Prime Minister.

Speaker Madobe’s visit comes only a few days after his host, Somalia’s ambassador to Kenya Mohamud Ahmed Nur (Tarzan), walked out of a diplomatic event in Nairobi hosted by President Uhuru Kenyatta, after the Kenyan government invited the Somaliland ambassador on an equal footing with other ambassadors.

Kenya was forced to seek amends after Somalia demanded an explanation from the Kenyan government regarding the recognition of Somaliland during the diplomatic event.
