Suspects arrested in trader’s killing in Beledweyne

Eight suspects in a murder case have been arrested in Beledweyne town following the killing of well known trader on Saturday.

Beledweyne town police Commissioner, Ali Abdi Mahad-Alle said officers are still hunting down more accomplices.

Mahad-Alle said police are also looking for men who is believed to have been involved in criminal activities in the town.

“A sad incident is the killing of Elmi Dhere but the police make sure to bring those perpatrators before the law,” said  Mahad-Alle.

Policewould put the detained individual on display very soon, he added.

More importantly, he decried that strife between law enforcement teams and the locals is to blame for increased crime in the town.

Dhere succumbed to injuries after he was shot several times by gunmen.
