GOOBJOOG NEWS/ETHIOPIA: At least 10 people have died in a landslide that occurred in the northern Amhara region of Ethiopia, according to local media reports. This marks the second disaster to hit the area in less than five weeks.

Amhara Media Corporation (AMC), citing the local administrator Tesfaye Workneh, reported that 10 people lost their lives in the landslide, with four bodies recovered from the mud and debris.

In addition to the fatalities, eight people were seriously injured in the disaster and are currently receiving treatment in hospitals, according to AMC, which cited local officials.

Photos from the scene show people carrying what appeared to be bodies from the mud. This landslide, the second since late July, was triggered by heavy rains that have been pounding Ethiopia. The United Nations has warned of further floods and landslides in the country.
