Ten political parties meet in Mogadishu, to unveil coalition

Ten major opposition political parties are today set to announce the formation of a coalition as the country gears for the next general elections in a year’s time.
The parties among them UPD led by former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Himilo which is chaired by ex-president Sheikh Sharif Ahmed are currently meeting in Mogadishu and are expected to make the announcement.
It is not clear if they will be fronting a joint candidate for the presidential election slated for February 2021. Goobjoog News has also learnt the parties will also be deliberating on the country’s state of affairs.
