The administration of Puntland explains the rift between the administrations of Galmudug and Puntland
The semi autonomous regional state of Puntland has given explanation on the rift between Galmudug and Puntland about the flights of Galkayo airport.
Puntland aviation minister Hassan Adde stated that their argument is based on Galmudug’s plan to build airport that is against the international laws on construction airports.
The minister reiterated that the two airports in the town are too close to an extent it may create interruption and further conflicts.
His remarks comes a time when Galmudug president Abdi Awale Qeybdiid warned fresh conflict between Puntland and Galmudug in Galkayo through a letter he sent to federal government of Somalia and United Nations special representative for Somalia Nicholas Kay.
On the hand the former Galmudug president Mohamed Ahmed Alin urged the two administrations to solve their difference through peaceful dialogue.
