The death toll of Tahmeed coach attack in Lamu county has increased. seven people, four soldiers and three civilians were killed and five others wounded as Kenya Red cross confirmed to the media.
Al-shabab claimed the responsibility of the bus attack and the police car in the neighborhood of Lamu county on Saturday morning.
The group told AFP by telephone it was “ready to act or attack anywhere necessary within Kenya” after Friday’s shooting.
“The attacks are a clear response to the government of Kenya’s false claim that they beefed up security in the area,” said Al- Shabab military spokesman Abdulaziz Abu Musab.
Over 80 people were killed in Lamu since June after unknown gun men attacked cities in coastal region.
