GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: A third civilian was shot dead Friday evening by suspected security forces barely 24 hours after SNA soldiers were confirmed by police to have fired at an autorickshaw killing two siblings.

The victim, identified as Mahad Abdirahman was gunned shot while on his motorbike along Zoobe junction in Mogadishu.

The circumstances surrounding the killing of Abdirahman remained unclear even as anger boiled over in the city following the killing of Zakariye Mohamud Hussein and Sowda Mohamud Hussein along Debka junction on Thursday night.

Sources said the two had gone out to buy food for a relative who was admitted at a city hospital when they met their death.

Police said Saturday morning they had arrested two soldiers- Abdiwael Moalim Aden and Dayah Nur Abdi Aden in connection to the killings.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has called for the speedy prosecution of suspects for their alleged killing of civilians.

Roble said in a statement last night that it was unacceptable for Somali government soldiers to kill innocent civilians and lauded the police for arresting the suspects.

“It is a positive step that the security forces have arrested the suspects. I urge that the perpetrators be brought to justice immediately so that justice can be done to the victims and their families”, said Roble.

Prime Minister Roble condoled with the families of the bereaved and assured them of his commitment to ensuring that justice is served.
