Three Hayat attack victims airlifted to Turkey for specialized treatment
GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Three victims of last month’s deadly Hayat terror attack were on Friday airlifted to Turkey for specialized medical treatment.
The three left the Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu via an ambulance plane sent by the Turkish Ministry of Health, according to a statement by the country’s embassy in Somalia.
The Somali Minister of Health, Ali Haji Adan, said the decision to airlift the victims was reached following an order issued by Prime Minister Hamza immediately after the attack, which stated that the government would be responsible for sending seriously injured victims abroad for advanced treatment.
The Turkish government, which has been supportive of Somalia in many areas, has been crucial in evacuating several victims of terror attacks and providing specialized treatment.
