Three Killed, Two Injured in Traffic Collision in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: At least three people were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Friday.

The crash occurred at the Miranaayo intersection in the Abdiaziz district when a speeding Saaruf vehicle collided with a Bajaj motorcycle carrying a family returning from a wedding.

Witnesses said the victims included mostly women, while the driver of the Bajaj also died.

The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, and the deceased were transported to a CID center for identification before being released to their families.

Police and traffic officials responded to the scene. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the Saaruf vehicle has been arrested, though no further details have been released on the individual’s identity or the cause of the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
