Three people killed, six injured in clashes in Galkaayo

At least three people were killed and six others injured in Galkaayo Saturday following a clash between two factions, a military officer said.

Col. Hassan Farah Karshe from Mudug region in Galmudug state told Goobjoog News the fighting erupted Saturday morning in Sarjamaale location some 60 kilometres east of Galkaayo town.

The military man blamed groups from Puntland over the attack but Goobjoog News was unable to get comment from Puntand.

“Whatever happened there is unheard of. They attacked pastoralist people and a fight ensued between them for about 2 hours. They came with 14 battle vehicles. On our side, 3 people killed and 3 were others injured” said Colonel Karshe.
