Three SNA killed and six injured in fighting between Somali soldiers in Adado
At three soldiers have been killed and six other were wounded after Somali national Army (SNA) engaged in a gun battle over salary distribution in Adado town.
“Three soldiers who were among the fighting sides were killed in the camp,” Goobjoog News correspondent in the town said.
Police and witnesses said that a gun battle erupted between the soldiers near the military base in Adado town.
Hundreds of Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers, many of whom are in the front line, have had to go without monthly payment for over a year.
Recently released U.N. suggests corruption was one reason for non-payment of wages. In the report, the UN Monitoring Group accuses senior Somali military commanders of inflating troop numbers and embezzling funds bound for salaries.
