Three SNA killed in fighting between Somali soldiers in Bula hawa
Fighting between Somali soldiers has left three soldiers dead on Monday in Bula Hawa town which lies 510 km south of Somalia’s capital city, Mogadishu .
Several others were wounded in the clashes, according to witnesses.
“Civilians who were caught in the crossfire was among the fatalities,” A resident in Bula Hawa town said.
Police and witnesses said that a gun battle erupted between the soldiers near the police station.
“As we were sitting in our shops we started to hear bouts of gunfire which then increased into the fully automatic fire,” One shopkeeper in the town said.
“The soldiers responsible for this horrible violence should face justice,” a senior security official said on condition of anonymity.
The infighting between the militias within the armed forces has been a reoccurring event in the past few months claiming the lives of many of civilian lives.
Somalia has been struggling to reconstitute its army, which collapsed with the government back in 1991, plunging the country into over two decades of chaos after warlords overthrew the country’s former dictator Mohamed Siad Barre.
