TikTok Personality Arrested Over Crash That Killed Five in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Police in Mogadishu’s Karaan district have arrested a man identified as Deeq Jeesow in connection with a traffic accident that claimed the lives of five people.

According to preliminary reports, a vehicle driven by the suspect collided at high speed with a three-wheeled taxi (bajaj) carrying five passengers. All five occupants were killed at the scene.

Police said the suspect was apprehended after a manhunt that lasted several hours. Investigations are currently underway to establish the exact cause of the crash and determine any criminal liability arising from the incident.

Deeq Jeesow is known on social media, particularly on TikTok, where he has built a sizeable following. Local reports also indicate that he previously served as a police officer in Somalia’s Hirshabelle State.

Authorities have yet to release a comprehensive account of how the accident occurred. Officials say the ongoing investigation is expected to provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
