August 21, 2015: National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) demands Puntland Authorities of Bari region the immediate release of detained Journalist.. NUSOJ said that journalist was beaten up by the local police for running a report on health status of Armo locality residents 100km drive to the south of Bosaso.
August 15, 2015 : Puntland president Abdiwali Mohamed Ali Gas welcomed the re-election of Jubbaland president Ahmed Mohamed Islam congratulating his landslide win and hoping good days of effective leadership.
August 20, 2015: Garowe district mayor was elected to Hassan Mohammad- a well known businessman after he defeated his main rivals in majority vote. The city mayoral election seen the first female candidate in unprecedented move by a young female who said she is running for the mayoral position to make sure the political participation of women in Puntland politics.
Osman Mohammad Said was elected as the deputy mayor of the city.
August 23, 2015: United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) organized training workshop for Puntland State Parliament’s financial committee as part of capacity building trainings initiatives by UNDP.
August 29, 2015: Puntland reconciliation and advisory conference was concluded in Galkio after five days of heated discussion and idea exchanging panel and a number of recommendation points were made before the conference was concluded.
