Top Al-Shabaab Member Surrenders to Government Forces in Mudug Region

GOOBJOOG NEWS | HARADHERE: A high ranking Al-Shabaab member has surrendered to government forces in Haradhere district, Mudug region.

Sidow Ali Ibrahim heeded to calls by government forces to surrender and was now joins other militia members who recently surrendered at Galmudug and have agreed to join the government’s rehabilitation program before being allowed back to the general public.

Security sources said Ibrahim was identified as having a leader of the group in Mudug region before moving to Barag Ali-Gadud area in Haradhere district.

The number of militants who have responded to the federal government’s calls to give themselves in have risen in recent weeks with South West and Galmudug regions registering the highest number of militia members who surrendered.
