Training Program for Somalia’s Fisheries Ministry Officials Kicks Off in China
GOOBJOOG NEWS | BEIJING: Federal Government of Somalia’s Fisheries Ministry officials have kicked off a twenty-day training program in Beijing, China aimed at enhancing the country’s marine resources management.
Speaking during the opening ceremony at the Foreign Economic Cooperation Center (FECC) of the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) Ambassador Awale Ali Kullane emphasized the critical role of the fishing industry in Somalia’s economic growth.
Ambassador Kullane further expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for its ongoing support for Somalia’s efforts to rebuild its economy and improve the lives of its citizens.
The training program focuses on equipping Somali fisheries officials with practical knowledge and will be implemented through visits to various locations across China, where participants will gain firsthand exposure to Chinese fishing techniques and sustainable resource management practices.
Director of the Personnel Department at Somalia’s Ministry of Fisheries Ikraan Mohamed Abdullahi expressed optimism that the opportunity will provide the Somali officials with invaluable insights into water resource management.
Deputy Director General of FECC Lin Huifang reiterated China’s commitment to assisting Somalia.
The program, which is scheduled to run from July 10th to July 30th represents a significant step towards collaboration between the two nations in developing Somalia’s fisheries sector.
