Turkey issues statement on Mogadishu’s Airport attack

GOOBJOOG NEWS/ANKARA: The Turkish government has strongly condemned yesterday’s Al-Shabaab attack on Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu, which killed at least 7 people and wounded several others.

A statement from the Turkish embassy in Mogadishu said it was “saddened” by the attack on Aden Adde International Airport, which killed seven security personnel and injured several others.

“Turkey extends its condolences to the government and people of Somalia, and wishes a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack. We strongly condemn this terrorist attack and send our deepest condolences to the Government and people of Somalia, our friends and brothers, and wish them God’s mercy and a speedy recovery to those injured,” read the statement said.

The Turkish government further reassured the Somali government and its people of Ankara’s unwavering support against terrorism.
