Turkey to Support Somali Police Enhance Forensic Department

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Turkish government has promised to work closely with the Somali Police Force in enhancing the capacity of the country’s Forensic and Criminal Investigation Department.

During a meeting held in Mogadishu Tuesday, top Somali police officials met with their Turkish counterparts to discuss the implementation of DNA samples and forensic laboratories in Somalia.

The move is expected to boost police efforts to tackle crimes and apprehend criminals.

Currently, samples are being sent abroad, which takes several days to obtain the results.
