Turkish-built hospital in Mogadishu closed as three doctors contract COVID-19
The Turkish built hospital in Mogadishu known as Digfer has closed following the outbreak of COVID-19 after three doctors working in the facility tested positive for the disease.
A doctor at the hospital told Goobjoog News the facility had been shut down from today after the three cases which were part of the nine reported by the Ministry of Health Friday.
The doctor noted only emergency cases such as victims of bomb attacks, gun and knife attacks and emergency maternal delivery will be attended to.
A 58 year old man who died this past week as a result of COVID-19 was attended to at Digfer Hospital but doctors referred him to the COVID-19 isolation centre at Martini hospital.
Somalia recorded nine cases Friday-the highest such number since the virus arrived in the country last month bring the total cases in the country to 21.
