Twin suicide bombs kill 18 and wound 48 in Baidoa
At least 18 people were killed and 48 others wounded Sunday evening in twin suicide attacks targeting a restaurant and a bar in Baidoa, the capital of South West State.
The attacks started when a male suicider activated an explosive belt inside restaurant full of diners. Minutes later another male suicide bomber rammed his car into crowded tea bars killing and wounding dozens of people.
Al-shabab claimed responsibility of the twin suicide attacks and said it has killed senior officer of South West State.
Baidoa police commander in an interview with Goobjoog News blamed Alshabab for the attacks. “We will hold them accountable for killing innocent civilians,” said he said.
Eye witnesses confirmed to Goobjoog News that the second suicide car was a Nissan Caravan filled with explosives.
At least 25 people most of them civilians were killed and 65 others wounded three days ago in attack that targeted SYL Hotel in Mogadishu in which Alshabab claimed the responsibility too.
