Two Al-Shabaab Members Convicted of Terrorism Executed in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: A military court in Mogadishu has carried out the execution of two Al-Shabaab members previously sentenced to death for their involvement in targeted killings and bomb attacks.

The two men, identified as Anas Abdiqadir Ali Mahmoud “Salman” and Adan Mursal Mohamed Iidow, were convicted of orchestrating assassinations and terrorist acts in Galkayo, Puntland, where several prominent community leaders and elders were killed.

The Military Court had earlier handed them the death penalty, and the sentences were officially carried out today.

According to court officials, the men were found guilty of planning and executing organized assassinations against Somali civilians, particularly respected elders and influential figures described as pillars of the community.

Military and judicial authorities said the execution sends a strong message to anyone involved in insecurity and terrorist activities, stressing that swift justice and decisive action are necessary to protect Somali society from Al-Shabaab violence.
