Three Al-Shabaab Militants Killed in US Airstrike

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Three Al-Shabaab militants were killed in a US airstrike on Sunday, the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) has said.

The US military said the militants were hit by a strike in Ugunji areas located some 71 kilometrees south west of the capital Mogadishu.

“The initial post-strike assessment indicates that the U.S. airstrike killed three al-Shabaab terrorists and that no civilians were harmed,” AFRICOM said.

This was the second strike in less than two weeks. On March 2, AFRICOM said it killed two Al-Shabaab militants in the vicinity approximately 45 km northeast of Kismayo.
