Two die after car collides with lorry in Mogadishu
Two people have died after a lorry heading to Mogadishu port rammed into a car in Mogadishu’s Waberi district along 21st October highway.
Eyewitnesses told Goobjoog News that two occupants of the car died on the spot while third who suffered injuries were rushed to Madina Hospital, where he is recuperating.
According to the police, the driver of the car was trying to overtake a truck when it collided head-on with the lorry during the early Monday morning accident.
“The personal vehicle was trying to overtake the truck when it was hit by the oncoming lorry,” said a police officer at the scene.
The mangled wreckages of the car involved remained at the scene for some time as police recorded details of the crash.
The incident comes barely two after three people were injured in head on crash involving a car and a bus on Mogadishu-Afgooye road near Garsbaaly located in the outskirt of Somali capital, Mogadishu.
