Two die in fighting between SNA and Jubbaland forces outside Kismayo

At least two people died as fierce fighting flared up between Somali National Army (SNA) and Jubbaland forces on Monday on the outskirt of the administrative capital of IJA, Kismayo.

Reports say that the attack began with heavy artillery and mortar fire on madhamato locality by Jubbaland soldiers.

Residents of those area have started moving away from their homes to seek bombshell, according to local sources.

Abdirashid Moalim Gaas who is one of the commander leading SNA said that Jubbaland forces have attacked their military camps backed by Kenyan Soldiers.

“Jubbaland forces assisted have attacked our forces based at Madhamato locality, prompting fighting which going on now” he said.

Meanwhile several attempts to reach Jubbaland administration for comment on the issue.
