GOOBJOOG NEWS|DHOBLEY: Reports from Dhobley town, Lower Juba region say that armed men shot and killed two civilians in the town Wednesday night.

The armed assailants are said to have taken two members of the same family to their homes and  shoot them dead before fleeing the murder scene.

Sources privy to the matter say the killings may have stemmed from clan-based conflict as clashes have flared up in many parts of Afmadow and Dhobley districts in recent days.

Security forces who were alerted of the killing are said to have immediately arrived at the scene and conducted a search for the culprits, but were unable to apprehend the killers of the two family members.

Security has deteriorated significantly in the Lower Juba region, with a civilian reported to have been killed and another injured in Diif, just a day after Jubaland security forces arrested a group of local elders whom they accused of fueling disunity and fighting among clans in the area.
